Terluran® ECO

ABS

The Terluran® ECO sustainable product portfolio includes both mechanically-recycled and bio-attributed alternatives to conventional ABS.

The Terluran ECO “MR” grades are ABS products containing 50% and 70% post-consumer mechanically-recycled content (“MR50” and “MR70”, respectively). Both grades are available in black and offer performance on the same level as conventional non-recycled material, thereby avoiding the need for downcycling and offering a drop-in solution for existing ABS applications. Both MR50 and MR70 are available with a RecyClass Recycled Plastics Traceability certificate confirming the post-consumer origin of the waste used.

Bio-attributed Terluran ECO products can be recognised by the suffix “BC50”, “BC60”, or “BC100” in their name. “BC50” and “BC60” grades contain bio-attributed content from styrene monomer from renewable sources, and Terluran ECO BC100 grades are a complete bio-attributed solution with bio-attributed content from all three monomers (styrene monomer, butadiene, and acrylonitrile). The use of renewable feedstock brings significant product carbon footprint savings.

Importantly, all of INEOS Styrolution’s bio-attributed products are produced according to an ISCC-certified mass balance approach, and have identical physical and mechanical properties as their fossil-based counterparts. All the same regulatory documents are also available. Therefore, when switching to INEOS Styrolution’s bio-attributed products, no new material approval processes are required.

Note: In addition to the bio-attributed grades mentioned below, bio-attributed versions of other fossil-based Terluran grades are available on request (e.g. HI-10, SP-6, etc.).
